Line and Movement Art {Virtual Fridge}

This Week
This is one of those super easy to do projects. It's one I found on Pinterest called Movement With Lines. The full step by step tutorial can be found at Create Art With Mrs. P! It's a project that you can accomplish with any age student and the results speak for themselves.

Mandy Harvey - "Smile"

There are so many things happening in the silence of my life right now and I would covet your prayers for myself and my family.  I heard this song earlier this week and needed some place to keep it handy as these words have ministered to my heart and I have a feeling I'm going to need to hear it often.

"It's in the future. I need to smile through this. I need to make it okay. There are so many challenges in life that you feel like you can't get over. This is your moment. You can't just let it go because it's difficult. Find the finish line. Smile it's going to be okay" - Mandy Harvey

Smile by Mandy Harvey (Lyrics)

Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky you'll get by

If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through for you
Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying
You'll see that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile

Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through for you
Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile what's the use of crying
You'll see that life's worthwhile
If you just smile
Just smile
Just smile

Pentomino Tessellation {Virtual Fridge}

This Week
Whew it's been a busy month around here!  I am finally finding some space to catch my breath and do a little bit on my blog.  Last month we did a few projects from ArtAchieve {Read my Review here}.  I first heard about tessellation three years ago when we did a Tessellating Tile Art project.  Here is a tessellation project with a difference.  This one is based on Pentomino.  To be honest it was a lot harder than either of us expected. This particular art work was from Level II-Lesson 8: Tessellations: Repeating a Pattern to Create Original Art

Tessellations: Pentomino
