Lego - The colour Red and Spring

This month Sir N participated in two Lego Challenges.

The first one from LEGO Quest II over at the Canadian Homeschooler.  The theme this past month has been COLOUR!

His first idea was to build a Lego brick.

I loved his second idea based on a Lady Bug.  

The second challenge was from Angels of Heart.  Lego Challenge #18 Spring Challenge.

His idea is a tree in blossom with a cat enjoying the sunshine.

We've really been enjoying these challenges.  Thank you to the Canadian Homeschooler and Angels of Heart for these.

Technology! {LEGO Quest II}

Sir N did his first Lego Challenge last year and enjoyed it so much I've decided to add it into our homeschool year this year. The Canadian Homeschooler is continuing the LEGO QUEST challenge series and this months theme is Technology.

How to share in the fun

1. You can share your child's creations on your blog, 
2. On Instagram or Twitter using the hastag #LEGOQuestII 
3. Post it to the Canadian Homeschooler Facebook page.
4. Email your child's creation to thecanadianhomeschooler@gmail.com with LEGO QUEST in the subject line by the 20th of the month, 
5. Be sure to add in the following information along with the photograph:
   Your child’s first name
   Your child’s age
   What Province/State or Country you are from
   What you have made  
6. This challenge ends on January 28th.

Where we live {LEGO Quest II}

The Canadian Homeschooler has relaunched the LEGO QUEST challenge series.  The current challenge has been Where you Live.

Sir N really enjoyed this challenge and we are looking forward to participating in future challenges.

Ballet, Lego & Gardens

Today we caught the train and went into Melbourne central.  We started at the Art Centre where we went to see an edu ballet session titled The Baron and the Widow which was a 60 min narrated performance with exerpts from The Merry Widow ballet.
 It was so beautiful inside, red velvet and polished brass.  The curtains on the stage were a rich red with a gold picture frame.  The stage scenes were so beautifully rich.  Unfortunately no camera's allowed :(  The costumes of the ballet dancers were gorgeous. I wanted to know what do you call the male lead ballet dancer ?  A Danseur.

The Arts Centre - Melbourne Australia

After this Sir N and I joined another family and went to the gardens accross the road for a picnic lunch.

From here we walked accross the road and had a look at the glass wall with water flowing down it at the National Gallery of Victoria.

 We then walked to Federation Square and had a look around.

The Art of the Brick Exhibition

Won 1st place at Brickvention 2007 for the best in show.

We had a wonderful day out exploring the sights and sounds of Melbourne.
